The largest (to date) of the Chicago
steel mid-rise condominium buildings, 33 West Huron incorporates a
complicated system of transfer girders to accommodate the building’s
rear setbacks (some up to 60'-0'' long).
The exterior masonry walls are
non-bearing, supported on alternate floors using steel shelf angles.
