Located near the world’s busiest airport, the Rosemont Theater
represents a “state of the art” performing arts center.
Nearby noise from jet airplanes
necessitated the use of precast concrete bearing wall panels and roof
slabs supported on open web steel trusses.
The vaulted proscenium area is
achieved by stacking 10" precast concrete wall panels up to 90'-0"
high. Lateral stability for the exterior wall is provided by horizontal
stiffening trusses. The trusses also serve as catwalks and provide access
to the gridiron over the center stage.
